Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty App Review

Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty App is a 3D side-scrolling game developed and published by Marvel Entertainment. The app costs $2.99 but I was lucky to get it free a couple of weeks back when they went on a promo. As Captain America, you enter levels and in each level, there are enemy soldiers that will try to bring you down. You can defeat these enemies using your shield and a couple of multiple-hit combos. There are also folders that you need to retrieve to get points and unlock special stuff. After that, you just need to reach the end of the level and you’re good.

I’m not really a fan of side-scrolling platform games but I gave this app a shot. I tried playing through a couple of levels and honestly, I got bored (maybe because as I’ve said, I’m not a fan of this kind of play). After a few levels, it felt repetitive – you just need to kill the enemies (or evade them), retrieve the folders, and reach the end of the level. The description on the iTunes page says that it has a storyline, but it didn’t feel that there is any. I uninstalled it afterwards.

The graphics are good and the sounds are OK. For me, this app has long ways to go to be considered a great app. I find it boring but hey, if you’re a hardcore Marvel fan and you don’t mind playing side-scrolling platform games, you might as well give it a shot.

Edit: The latest update of Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty has crash issues. Please wait for an update if you’re looking to buy this game.
